Baptism marks the beginning of an amazing journey of faith, for you or your child, within the family of the Church. We welcome everyone who would like to explore this step, whether you’re new to church or have long-standing connections. Services are relaxed and joyful occasions where we celebrate God’s love and pray for those being baptised and their families. Our team will help you prepare for the day and support you as you continue your journey of faith.
Whether you’re planning a small, intimate ceremony or a joyful celebration with family and friends, we’d love to help make your special day meaningful and memorable. A church wedding lets you begin married life in God’s presence and with His blessing.
When someone dies, we offer care, comfort, and a place to give thanks and say goodbye in the light of God’s love. Our clergy and pastoral team will support you in creating a service that truly honours your loved one.
The robed choir of St Michael and All Angels has led worship continuously since the church’s dedication in 1898 and remains a cornerstone of the parish’s musical life. Known for its rich Anglican choral tradition and high-quality repertoire—now numbering over a thousand pieces—the choir leads the monthly choral Eucharist and twice-monthly Evensongs, as well as festival services and concerts. During the pandemic, members sustained worship through online recordings that continue to attract thousands of views on the parish YouTube channel. The choir’s ministry not only enriches worship but also strengthens links with the University of Southampton and the wider musical community.
The Junior Choir, based at St Michael and All Angels, offers children and young people the chance to develop their musical and spiritual gifts in an encouraging environment. Meeting weekly to rehearse, they sing regularly alongside the senior choir and lead the monthly all-age service. In keeping with the parish’s inclusive ethos, children are encouraged to take an active part in worship—helping to prepare the Eucharistic table and receiving Communion. The group continues to grow, drawing families into the church community and nurturing a new generation of confident, faith-filled musicians.
Our churches and halls are welcoming spaces at the heart of the community — ideal for concerts, meetings, celebrations, and local groups. From the flexible All Saints Church Centre, the beautiful acoustic of St Michael’s, the spacious Parish Hall, to the comfortable meeting spece with the historic setting of St Nicolas’, we can offer the perfect setting for your event.

The parish of North Stoneham and Bassett has a rich story stretching back centuries, with each of our three churches reflecting a unique part of that heritage. The historic beauty of St Nicolas, the welcoming space of St Michael’s, and the vibrant community life of All Saints, each of our buildings tell the story of faith lived out across generations.
The bells of St Nicolas’ church have been rung since the 16th century. Today there are ten bells in the tower — rung regularly for sevices and weddings — and a small but enthusiastic band of ringers who practise once a month. They are always looking for experienced ringers or willing learners to join them!
